When an individual’s job duties require work to be done at considerable heights, that person runs the risk of suffering serious injuries if he or she falls. Many workers are put at such risk in a variety of occupations, and unfortunately, accidents occur relatively often. Though the types of injuries stemming from such an event may vary, there is a high likelihood that workers can suffer significant harm.
It was recently reported that a Georgia worker was involved in a workplace accident. Apparently, the man had been working on the roof of a warehouse building when he fell through the roof. The building was reported as being two-stories tall, and the man fell all the way to the cement floor.
It was unclear what types of injuries the man may have suffered. Nonetheless, emergency crews were called to the scene. The worker was conscious and able to respond to emergency personnel. He was transported from the site to an area hospital for treatment. One individual stated that the man was in “pretty good shape” for having fallen through a roof.
Many individuals may feel lucky to survive work accidents. This Georgia worker may be feeling such relief, but he will likely also have many difficulties to face as well. He may need assistance with medical bills and supplemental income if time away from work is needed to recover from his injuries. If this is the case, he may want to gain information on workers’ compensation benefits and how they may be able to help.
