Georgia car crash claims life of teen

On Behalf of | Apr 14, 2017 | Uncategorized

When asked to consider a deadly crash, a different scenario may pop into each individual’s mind. Some parties may immediately picture a multi-car accident, while others think of tractor-trailers or drunk drivers. Unfortunately, any type of car crash could prove fatal depending on the circumstances, and many people can feel the repercussions of such an incident.

It was recently reported that a single-vehicle crash in Georgia proved deadly. Apparently, a 20-year-old man was driving an SUV when he failed to keep the vehicle on the road. After leaving the road, the SUV struck a tree. It was unclear what may have caused the driver to possibly lose control of the vehicle. He and one passenger were apparently the only occupants.

The incident resulted in the 17-year-old passenger suffering fatal injuries. Authorities declared that individual dead at the accident site. The driver escaped serious injury. Authorities were continuing to investigate at the time of the report. It was unclear whether any charges may result from the crash, but additional information may become available at a later time.

The family of the teen killed in this crash may feel shocked by the sudden loss of their young loved one. As they await more information regarding the car crash, they may wish to explore their civil legal options. If they feel it could be right for them, they may have cause to file a wrongful death claim against the driver considered at fault. This claim could help them seek compensation for damages permissible under Georgia law.
