The idea of an on-the-job injury can be one that causes much anxiety for any Georgia worker or worker’s family. Depending on the occupation, a workplace accident could cause serious or fatal injuries. These injuries could lead to a variety of impacts, but most commonly, individuals find themselves facing questions regarding their finances.
One individual in another state may soon be considering such questions after a recent accident. Reports stated that a man on a job site was injured after falling into an 8-foot-deep trench. It was unclear what the trench was being used for or what type of work-related activities the individual was carrying out at the time of the accident. Details were also not given regarding what caused the man to fall.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m., and roadways were closed in order for emergency crews to attempt to rescue the man. After stabilizing the sides of the trench, firefighters were able to get the man out. Photos from the scene show the worker on a stretcher, and he was transported to an area hospital with complaints of back pain.
Falls of any type can lead to serious injuries, and that may be the case for this worker. If Georgia residents have suffered such injuries due to a fall in a workplace accident, they may be wondering how this situation will impact them financially. Medical bills and lost income are often outcomes, and discussing workers’ compensation coverage with an experienced attorney may help interested individuals gain the answers they are looking for.
